[...] Our pal Alec Saunders says that Jajah’s turn to ad-supported calling (apparenty diverging from its previous plan to focus on upselling conference calls, etc.) “has a plausible revenue model,” but put me in the skeptics’ corner on this one.
[...] Our pal Alec Saunders says that Jajah’s turn to ad-supported calling (apparenty diverging from its previous plan to focus on upselling conference calls, etc.) “has a plausible revenue model,” but put me in the skeptics’ corner on this one.The good thing about the VoIP-based minute-stealers (as Om calls them) is that they help shatter the old telecom per-minute, long-distance billing model. And maybe by leveraging partners via a “powered by Jajah” strategy, the company can sign up new users it wouldn’t have reached before. [...]

Thats Huge.
Good 4 Jahah; been watching them 4 awhile as they struggle with other similiar startups that pop up month by month. Final validation 4 them and looks like some real revenue.

Good 4 Pro7Sat1, Bild-T Online and News Austria as thats a leap of faith 4 them as well into the new unknown. Wonder how the telcos/carriers will respond which depends on how successful the campaign is with REAL users.

[...] Alec Saunders broke news about JAJAH partnering with European social networking sites that will feature the JAJAH service. In exchange for the service, JAJAH will recieve a revenue share with the social networking sites. As Alec points out, the ad funded model was bound to come around sometime, but will it work? Or better yet, has it ever worked for telephony services? [...]
