Scrybe: Substance or Hype?
Scrybe co-founder Shehryar Hydri dropped me a note yesterday drawing my attention to their upcoming beta, and the drop-dead gorgeous video they’ve made to launch it. Scrybe is an online organizer, combining calendar, list making, and task management. It’s drawing a lot of attention over at the Download Squad. Jason Clarke is practically salivating on the floor as he proclaims that Scrybe is the Online Productivity Suite I’m Dying to Try.

The two real innovations revealed in the Scrybe video are offline mode (yes, an Ajax app that operates offline or online!), and the ThoughtPad feature. ThoughtPad lets you easily build lists of not bookmarks, but excerpts from the web pages you want to keep, and place those in context on your calendar.
The video is impressive, but leaves a lot of questions unanswered. How does Scrybe handle contacts? Collaboration scenarios? Does it do email too? Integrate with email? Who do they see as their competitors? Is there a web services API?
And PaperSync? Well, someone has a very sly sense of humor….

Great news, finaly an online calender that is useful. I guess a lot of time could be saved with this new service. I like the offline feature most.

This new service is interesting in that our company needs a calendar product that DOES NOT have email integrated. Hot clickable links are fine to email. We want a solid calendar, resource management, to do list product. Scrybe might be a closer match than all other products we have looked at for us.
