Blocked Again!

I’ve been travelling a fair bit recently.  In a couple of places where I’ve stayed I’ve noticed that I am unable to login to the VPN we have at the office.  The internet works just fine in these places, but not the VPN.  Now, usually, when I am travelling in the US, I just whip out my Verizon EVDO card, and ignore the hotel wireless network.  However, for the last couple of days I’ve been staying at the Best Western Primrose in Toronto, where my Verizon card carries hefty roaming charges.  Needless to say, when I discovered that the Primrose was blocking my VPN (and SIP), I wasn’t pleased.  I let the management know that while I appreciated the free WiFi, it was of little use.

Dinner: Blogged!

The Toronto blogger dinner is done.  Shel Israel, as well about 50 of his closest friends, all converged at Shoeless Joe’s on King W. It was a great event.  I met a bunch of people, including the usual suspects, and a bunch more that I hadn’t met.  Congrats Shel!  I hope your books sells very well.
