I think it's time for the Liberals to go to the bench for a while. They've been on the ice for too long. The charge that the Conservatives have been smearing the Liberals just doesn't hold water for me. Gomery is what it is. Nobody should ignore that, least of all Mr. Martin. His response when the findings were finally announced was underwhelming. Fundamentally, I don't think a Conservative government will stray too far from the centre, if elected. The issue of same-sex marriage gives me personally a lot of heartburn, but I am hopeful that if it does come to a vote, MP's vote to preserve those rights. I am confident that if Parliament does the wrong thing, this will go to the Supreme Court, and the court will do the right thing. Hey Mad,

The reality is that I, and I would hope a lot of Canadians, are sick to death of hearing about the sponsorship scandal and how that makes the liberals bad. The Liberal party did a helluva job considering they were a minority government for 18 months. And frankly, although Jean Chretien did get a little power mad at the end and did do some very unethical things, he is NOT the whole liberal party. He isn't even there anymore. And several months of minority leadership probably did alot to remove that culture. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a huge supporter of the Liberal party but I do feel they are the lesser of a bunch of evils. 2: Harper may have learned from his mistakes and may be a smart guy, but values and morals don't change just because it's election time. He is at heart a right wing conservative that will bring alot of pain to canada for various reasons. I don't know that he's fiscally much more responsible or capable than the NDP. He will sell Canada out to our southern neighbours to gain some friendship points that will really not be all that good for us. And worst of all, my biggest fear about Harper in power is that his "Americanist" tendencies has the possiblity of bringing terrorism to our soil. 3: He maintains that he can grow with the times but I haven't seen it. His views on same sex marriage were the same 4 weeks ago as they were 2 years ago, but as soon as the press got a hold of it he changed his view. If he can't even stay passionate about something that divisive, how can he possibly stand his ground against international bullying? Please don't misunderstand; I am not a fan of the Liberals elitest culture of entitlement. But past all that, I feel that they did run the country well and put us in a very good place economically, socially and internationally. I truly don't believe a conservative majority can do that. I personally think the best thing for canada would be another minority government, regardless of who it is. Just my uneducated and unresearched opinions. :) Gotta disagree with a few things.
