The Telic model is to buy a gateway, and sell access. They then route traffic to other end points. It's almost like buying a franchise for your particular area. By necessity, one has to deploy in all the points of contact with PSTN. But I suppose one can resell others PSTN interconnection service - Skype being the prime example. I have been waiting for the long promised, next generation of services. Even the darling Skype has not delivered on this that can not be done with TAPI and modem enabled computer. Actually deploying physical gateways is not low cost. By necessity, one has to deploy in all the points of contact with PSTN. But I suppose one can resell others PSTN interconnection service - Skype being the prime example.

I have been waiting for the long promised, next generation of services. Even the darling Skype has not delivered on this that can not be done with TAPI and modem enabled computer.
