Foldershare, by Microsoft: Now Free

Microsoft has acquired one of my favorite utility companies: Foldershare. It’s to be integrated with the Windows Live offering, but much to Om Malik’s relief, they won’t be abandoning the Mac client.  They’ve waived the $99/year service fee, as well.

If you need to:

  • synchronize files on multiple PC’s
  • automatically backup files from one PC to another
  • share files with remote co-workers
  • keep one master copy of files which everyone can edit, but have them accessible on remote laptops by people who aren’t in the office

… run out and download this software NOW.

Geddes: The Telecom Menopause

Martin’s post boils down to: "Telcos that divide connectivity from service, by design or through regulation, are in a better position to survive… Bit haulage and application service are equally separable and economically viable independently."

Welcome to Voice 2.0.

Nice Review of Skype for Outlook

Jim Courtney has written a nice review of the Skype for Outlook toolbar over on the Skype Journal Website.  He even gets in a nice mention of how this relates to Voice 2.0.  Skype for Outlook is a part of my daily routine as well.  These days, however, I am finding myself using Gizmo Project more and more.  I wish they had as useful a tool as Skype for Outlook.

Tampa 2, Ottawa 4

That was a hard fought game.  The Lightning kept the Sens on their feet the whole night.  Alfredsson was amazing.  At one point, during a 5 on 3, he grabbed a loose puck for a one-handed breakaway, weaving in and out of the Tampa Bay defense all the way down to the net and then roared back to his own end to check Lecavalier after Grahame cleared the puck from Tampa.  Talk about leading by example!

The new rules have really made for some exciting play.
