Layton Takes a Swipe
Jack Layton took a swing at Stephen Harper today saying:"If we end up in an election, those who call it, will have taken their mind off people and will have begun to focus on political interests, and that’s very unfortunate."
That’s a little arrogant Jack. Let’s have an election and see if the people really want these new programs. This person, and a bunch more like him, would prefer to pay down the debt.

I disagree with the pundits and conservatives calling for an election. And at the same time, I commend Paul Martin for what he has done. MOST LIKELY we will have another minority government after the next election. How will we ever get things done? By voting in these kinds of governments, we, the citizens of Canada… are also creating this interesting dynamic…

I think that the population does not want an election at this time and that Layton is on the right track to attempt to play ball with the Liberals in order to prevent an election now. It looks as though he might be somewhat successful judging from this morning’s Globe and Mail polls putting the Liberals ahead of the Conservatives and the NDP up 3%. I think Harper knew that yesterday when spewed forth in a most insulting, disgusting fashion. I don’t know when the Conservatives are going to get the message that slanging other people and parties is not popular with anyone other than themselves and, in fact, will lose them votes!

Jack Layton isn’t “playing ball”. He’s dictating the terms of surrender. That’s my objection. I don’t want my tax dollars invested where he’s dictating they will be.
So, let’s have an election and see how many other people feel the same way I do.
