Want to subscribe to a scary RSS feed?  Try the US geological service earthquake feed.  A typical report looks like this.  On any given day you can see 10 or more quakes greater than magnitude 5, and for the last few weeks there have been constant aftershocks in south-east asia.

Podcasting.  I just don’t get it.  I listened to Adam Curry’s latest, which Scoble recommended. Self-indulgent, rambling, and mostly content free. I really didn’t need to hear about Curry’s latest haircut! Then I went over to Podcasting.ORG to listen to some more. 

Technically, I think that the idea of using RSS to describe and syndicate audio is interesting.  In theory, you could construct a radio feed with just what you wanted to listen to. I don’t think it works in practice.  We’re not all natural broadcasters and there is a reason why professional broadcasters have producers and writers for their shows, and work from scripts.

CRM Today writes the Top 10 Trends for 2005. Most are obvious — consolidation, convergence, 911 and so on. They identify SPIT (Spam over Internet Telephony) as a potential iceberg lurking in the VoIP waters.  Couldn’t agree more.
