Rogers has completed their acquisition of Microcell (a.k.a. Fido). Both companies have posted FAQs on their websites. Net net: the services and brands will remain separate, but the size of the overall network increases. Occasionally, as a Rogers customer, you might find yourself roaming onto the Microcell network and vice versa.

How long can you hold it?

PMC Sierra Chipsets
Interesting tidbit on the newswire this morning — PMC Sierra has announced a series of VoIP multi-service chipsets. The highest powered device in that announcement was the MSP5000, described as a "MIPS-Powered multi-service processor, 1-16 voice channels, 2 DSP cores, VPN security engine, 2×10/100 Ethernet MAC". The stated use was for a small enterprise IAD with IP PBX.
Available now.
Which begs the question — since PMC’s customer base includes Cisco, Lucent, Nortel, Alcatel, Ericsson and NEC, how long will we have to wait for a micro-PBX to hit the market from one of these vendors?
