WiFi phones from Vonage [6:54:25 AM]
Big news from Vonage: Market expansions, and a new telephone offering.. Vonage to offer portable Wi-Fi phones (CNET News.com). This is great stuff. I use wireless hotspots all the time, including recently lugging a wireless router with me on two trips in case the hotel didn’t have wireless.

Bell Mobility to shed it’s stodgy image [7:23:26 PM]
Interesting stuff — Bell and Virgin marketing a branded service in Canada aimed at youth – Virgin Group, Bell Mobility aim at Canadian youth with new joint venture. Bell Mobility’s current offerings are establishment, boring, dull as nails cell services. Is this in response to the cool Telus ads?

I had to laugh at this headline from Network World… Pulver: VoIP lacks coolness (Network World Fusion).
Jeff is partially right. We need the iPhone, and a bunch of killer software to make VoIP a phenomenon. But I think we have the juice in the VoIP community today to do that…

Tipping Point? Not Yet. Great post from Andy Abramson on the potential for VoIP. I have to wonder about the last point though… a 16 year old Zinfandel is surely past it’s prime…
Me. I’m staying on hooked on Ridge Geyserville, vintage 1988, like I drank last night. I know what’s in that bottle, and while it has a purple color, it’s sure not Kool Aid.
