Consumer VOIP. VoIP NEWS ONLINE. Been looking at VOIP for consumers. Heres an entrie site dedicated to it. Note that Vonage just raised an additional $35M from NEA to bring their total to $60M plus. Big money being thrown at this now. Between SBC last week, and Vonage this week, it’s shaping up to be a major war for the customer.
Vonage raises $35 million. The Internet telephone service provider on Monday is expected to announce a $35 million investment earmarked for expansion plans.
NY Times: Gay Couples Follow a Trail North Blazed by Slaves and War Resisters. I’m not sure I’m that keen on Canada being the place where the US marijuana refugees are heading, but the notion that we’re a haven for oppressed minorities fits well. The NY Times article’s attempt to link the underground railroad with American gay couples seeking marriage licenses is somewhat weak. Nobody is persecuting gay people in the US to the extent of enslavement, or denial of basic human rights. If you’re familiar with “Maszlow’s Hierarchy of Needs”, this movement north is more along the lines of Self Actualization than Survival.
