Al Gore’s Ambition. What this boils down to, in my opinion, is the recognition on Gore’s part that he’d be going up against an immensely popular war-time president. It’s more than “grace”. Gore has simply concluded that it’s better to go away, and fight another day. Perhaps it will be another Clinton-Gore race in 2008?
